Half MarathonAnother very successful Half Marathon. Enormous thanks are due to Race Directors Elaine Brinkley and Anne Oliver - a lot of hard work goes into such a well-organised event. Congratulations to the runners in the two Felixstowe teams who completed the gruelling 193 mile multi-terrain Round Norfolk Relay event on September 20/21, and particular thanks to Tim Finegan who had the difficult task of organising the teams. Also well done to Lucy Rudduck and Helen Finegan who were first-placed in their age category for their legs of the relay. Full results are available at Round Norfolk Relay
Good news for the older runnerAccording to Stanford University research, reported by the BBC, regular running can significantly slow the effects of aging - see http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7554293.stm Club information and meeting timesWe are a small friendly running club - about 150 members in Felixstowe and surrounding areas. We welcome new members of all standards - see our new members page. We organise two main road races each year - the Kirton 5 mile and the Felixstowe Half-Marathon, and we also have many less formal events in and around Felixstowe. The Club has a thriving junior section which meets on Wednesday evenings at 6.00 - see our Juniors page for details. Meeting times Tuesdays at 6.45, Brackenbury Sports Centre - meet on balcony (suitable for beginners). Wednesdays at 7.15, Brackenbury Sports Centre. Juniors - Wednesdays at 6.00.
